TELEMATICS - a strong combination between computers and telecommunication. According to Roy Ascott, telematics is what made things like email, instant messaging and even ATMs integral parts of our daily lives.

TELEPRESENCE - the amount of immersion into a virtual or cyber space. Telepresence is key to achieving realistic virtual reality and is an important aspect in the development of modern video games.

NETWORK ART - a form of art that uses the internet and other connections between computers as a medium. It is an artform that deals with data and is "inclusive of the practices that thoughtfully respond to the emergence of and widespread social, cultural and economic impact and take up of networked information technologies" (Netork Art: Practices and Positions).
